Cinematographer Alejandro Wilkins is known for his bold cinematic choices and emotional visual style.
While rising through the ranks of the International Cinematographers Guild, Wilkins collaborated with many industry influencers including award winning directors, Mark Polish, Brian Klugman, and Alex Rubens.
In 2016, Wilkins was honored as an emerging cinematographer from I.A.T.S.E. Local 600, of which he has been a member since 2006. Later that year his collaboration with director Will Blank on “Limbo”, won “best narrative” at CineGear Expo LA and was screened in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Poland.
Wilkins is also a prolific documentary Director of Photography. He often travels to remote locations to capture his subjects. Recently, his work in Sonora, Mexico on the boxing documentary, “El Gallo”, won best cinematography at the 2018 Downtown LA international film festival and was the headlining film of the “Sporting Life” showcase at DOC NYC. More of his non-fiction work can be seen in Peter Berg’s acclaimed Netflix documentary series, “QB1: Beyond the Lights” and in the upcoming Vulcan Productions feature documentary, “Ghost Fleet,” where he spent three weeks shooting in eastern Indonesia.
Commercial work and branded content round out the scope of Wilkinsʼ current experience, having shot commercial campaigns for Lexus, Chameleon Cold Brew, Maruha Nichiro, and Footlocker, among others.
Wilkins looks forward to expanding his photographic reach by cultivating long-term professional relationships and through consistent hard work, compassion and respect for all that he captures within his frame.
